YOUR POSTAL ORDER, STEP BY STEP

A little preparation.
A clearer alteration.

Use this guide before placing an online alteration or repair order. Good instructions help the tailor understand the job, and careful packing keeps the garment and order details together.

01

1. Confirm the work is suitable

Choose an available service inside Online Tailor and read its description. If the garment needs a fitting, the damage is extensive or the right service is unclear, contact the team before paying. A guide is not a substitute for a garment assessment.

02

2. Separate removal from finished length

For example, a measured length of 32 inches shortened by 2 inches would finish at 30 inches when measured between the same points. Enter 2 under “Shorten by” or 30 under “Finished measurement”, as the service requests. Do not enter a trouser size label in place of a measured length.

03

3. State the units and measurement points

Use inches or centimetres consistently and check the unit selected in the form. Confirm where the measurement starts and ends. An inside-leg length, outside-leg length and overall garment length are different measurements; ask the tailor which one is required for your service.

04

4. Add useful photos and notes

Include a full view of the garment and a close-up of the area to alter or repair. The order form accepts reference photos and notes. Describe any lining, special finish or damage that affects the work; keep your photos focused on the garment.

05

5. Check payment and return details

Review the service price, separate return-delivery charge and total in the app. Enter the full recipient name, address and postcode. You arrange and pay for the postage to the shop yourself. Confirm any postcode-specific delivery requirements before ordering.

06

6. Pack after receiving confirmation

Use the destination shown in the confirmed order. Make sure the garment is clean and dry, protect it inside suitable packaging and include a note with the order number. Secure the parcel and keep proof of postage and tracking. Choose a postal service appropriate to the contents and value.

07

7. Follow your order

Use your account to check the order details and progress recorded by the shop. Keep your outward parcel tracking separately. If you have an event date or need to discuss return arrangements, contact the team with your order number.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few useful answers.

Is outward postage included in the checkout total?

No. You arrange and pay for postage to the shop. The checkout total includes the tailoring service and the return-delivery charge displayed there.

Can I put several garments in one parcel?

Check with the shop first so the parcel contents, order references and return arrangements are clear. Do not assume one service purchase covers additional garments.

What if I entered the wrong measurement?

Contact the tailor promptly with the order number and the correction. Ask for confirmation before sending the garment; do not rely on a second, conflicting note in the parcel.

Is parcel tracking the same as order tracking?

No. Parcel tracking follows a shipment with the postal provider. MyTailors order tracking shows the progress updates recorded by your tailor.
